Wide head holds shingles without tearing

The oversized head on these is the whole point — it grabs the shingle flange without punching through the felt. Hot-dip galvanizing is noticeably thicker than electro-gal, which matters up on a roof that'll see rain and freeze-thaw cycles for 20 years.

Used these for a full re-roof

Re-roofed my garage by hand and went through several pounds of these. Every nail drove flush without bending. The wide washer head gave me confidence the shingles weren't going anywhere. Two months in, no lifted tabs.

    Good for patching too

I used these to nail down a handful of lifted shingles after a wind storm. The wide head snugged the shingle back down flat against the felt and deck. Easy to drive with a regular hammer — no special tools needed.

    Galvanizing holds up to weather

I've tried cheaper roofing nails and they start showing rust stains through the shingles within a few years. The hot-dip galvanizing on these actually coats the threads and shank fully — no rust bleed. My standard nail for asphalt shingle jobs now.

    Nice weight for hand nailing

The 1.25-inch length is ideal for standard 3-tab shingles over 1/2 plywood deck. These hit the sweet spot between holding power and not poking through the deck. I tested the galvanizing with a salt spray — they held up well.

Good but count could be better

The nails themselves are quality — good galvanizing, proper wide head, sharp points. My only gripe is the per-pound count is a bit lower than comparable brands so you go through boxes faster on bigger jobs. Quality is there, just wish there were more.
